getFolks 0.11 - Updated Google Gmail to iPod Contacts

If you don't know what getFolks is, it is a little app to convert your exported Google Gmail contacts into iPod ready vcf files, if you want to read the initial release post, look here.

Well, due to some suggestions, I have made some slight improvements to the getFolks app. The output of the vcf files should be a little cleaner. Addresses and phone numbers should now show up on the iPod (a little syntax error was to blame for that not working all the time).

I am still open for suggestions and as you can see, turn around time on these little apps is pretty quick.

Very cool to get this king of feedback. I am still not able to take the Gmail export. I have to take the Outlook export. I don't know if i do something wrong ? And probably since both export are not in the same format, i don't get the good info in the good field (phone in address or nothing at all in some field that are populated in gamil).

If i can help, let me know.

Very great app again !

If you want to email me your gmail.csv export file, I can see if there is some piece of data in it that is causing getFolks to die and fix the bug in the program.

Very usefull, very easy to use, great job!

I have to do the same things about gmail export, I have to export the gmail-to-outlook.csv and to rename it after to make it work.

Very handy but...

I'm getting some strangeness! I've got 55 contacts with varying degrees of information. Some with just name & email, some with multiple numbers / emails / addresses & notes etc.

If I do a 'gmail' export, It loads 42vcards (although if I look in the csv, everyone's there), with varying information.

If I do an 'outlook' export, it loads 54vcards (again the missing card entry is in the csv), with all the info, but a bit mangled in places!

But it's still useful! Thanks.

Neat idea, but it only loads about 20% of my gmail contacts.

Is this for mac or windows.

Create this app to work on Windows Mobile and Windows Mobile Smartphones!

Nice, but it'd be better if the DOS windows auto-closed themselves when done. This way the novices will be more confident that your program has done it's job successfully.
